Isles, Inc. is hosting an Urban Agriculture Volunteer Orientation on November 3, 2012 for individuals interested in learning more about Isles, urban agriculture and Trenton. The decrease in Trenton’s population has left vacant, underused land that Isles is helping transform into gardens where local residents are growing their own food. Isles’ low-cost assistance teaches gardeners how to grow food and provides materials for raised beds, seeds and organic pest control; and tools and equipment to prepare the soil.
